Reflections of Art: Artist Demonstration
With Special Guest Eloise Shelton-Mayo on
Cold Wax Work
A new series of programming employing the use of an overhead mirror gifted to the museum by the Sumi-E Society of America. Each program will host a different artist to share their technique and expertise in a unique medium.
This first program will see guest artist and instructor Eloise Shelton-Mayo who will share her approach to cold wax surface painting. Shelton-Mayo teaches art and design for TCC’s Visual Art Center and focuses her subject matter on “psychological themes of transition, memory, and home” as she layers colors and then scratches through the surfaces to achieve “finishes of aged, worn things.” Eloise has been in many exhibits and won numerous awards, most recently a 2015 Purchase Award at TCC’s Faculty Show. To learn more about Eloise and her art, go online towww.eloisesheltonmayo.com. This event is included with paid admission to the museum.
